About Alaska Orthopedic Specialists
Alaska Orthopedic Specialists is an orthopedic clinic, focusing on the treatment of the musculoskeletal system, including bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles, and nerves of the body. We evaluate and treat patients of all ages—from infants to elderly adults—and offer comprehensive treatment for a variety of injuries and conditions caused by sports injuries, disabilities, accidents, or degenerative diseases.
As Alaska’s premier orthopedic specialists, our highly trained physicians are dedicated to using the latest modern technology. On-site services, including x-ray, fluoroscopy, and ultrasound, allow our providers to make an accurate, full diagnosis for every individual who walks through our doors. With methodical research and analysis behind everything we do, we candidly discuss all the options available to you —starting with the most conservative, non-surgical options and exploring more complex surgical procedures when necessary.
Our History
Alaska Hand-Elbow-Shoulder (AKHES) was founded in 2007 to offer Alaskans dedicated care of the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder in a private practice setting.
Rhyneer Caylor Clinic was founded in 2007 with a focus on lower extremity sports and joint replacements.
In 2021, AKHES and the Rhyneer Caylor Clinic merged into Alaska Orthopedic Specialists. Under this new name, our diverse team of specialists has offered expanded services with the same small-practice feel and compassionate values.
Like many Alaskans, our doctors and staff enjoy an active Alaskan lifestyle in the great outdoors. Our team at Alaska Orthopedic Specialists will work for your health and healing and strive to both relieve pain and restore function in the hand, wrist, elbow, shoulder, hip, knee, foot, or ankle to get you back to your active Alaskan lifestyle.
We invite you to explore our medical specialties and to call us with any questions.
I began to notice a clicking sound in my thumb. I had an appointment with Dr Gray, who is very kind, and we scheduled surgery. I had only been in surgery one other time in my life, and I am in my 70s, so I was anxious. The staff was fabulous. They all made me feel so comfortable and stayed with me during the entire process. I have never met a more caring group of nurses.
