Dr. Mark Caylor is a Board Certified orthopedic surgeon. He was born and raised in Florida. After completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Florida, Dr. Caylor finalized his medical training and subsequently his orthopedic residency in 2002 at the University of South Alabama Medical Center, a busy Level 1 Trauma Center. Dr. Caylor went into private practice for five years in Pensacola and had a thriving practice which became known for its excellence in sports medicine, trauma, and the latest in minimally invasive surgery.
In 2007, Dr. Caylor felt led to move his family to the Anchorage area. He joined the Alaska Native Medical Center where he practiced for six years and spent the last two years serving as Chief of Orthopedics.
In July of 2013, he joined Dr. Rhyneer as he believed in the ideals that established the Rhyneer Clinic – a small practice known for personal attention, outstanding orthopedic care, modern technology, and a warm, professional staff. Under the new Alaska Orthopedic Specialists name, Dr. Caylor continues to serve the Alaskan community with these same values at the core of his practice. He excels in sports medicine, trauma, joint replacements and joint revisions.
Dr Caylor enjoys cooking, traveling and outdoor activities with his wife. His favorite hobbies are running, biking, hiking, camping, hunting, building, and reading. He also loves to spend time with his grown daughters and their families.
