Eric found his joy for medicine first as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician in the Northern Rockies in 1999. Over the next 20 years he worked up to the level of Training Captain on his local fire department, Lead Instructor as a professional ski patroller, and wilderness expedition medicine provider and instructor. With wide-ranging pre-hospital experience in orthopedic medicine, injuries, and traumas, Eric found a passion for this important specialty. He acquired his undergraduate degree from Western State College of Colorado and later earned his Master of Clinical Health Sciences from the University of Washington MEDEX Northwest PA Program (Anchorage) in 2022.
As part of his formal clinical rotations during his PA education, Eric completed additional clerkships with the University of Washington Bone & Joint Clinic to enhance his orthopedic education and experience prior to his board certification and joining Alaska Orthopedic Specialists.
Eric discovered Alaska working as an outdoor expedition leader in 2003 and moved to Anchorage in 2018 to live with his wife, Katie. They enjoy backcountry skiing, backpacking, mountain biking, and packrafting throughout the state and have recently added a rescued puppy to the household.
