SMS TERMS of SERVICE

Description

By opting in to the Alaska Orthopedic Specialists (AOS) Messaging Program, the Recipient (Patient, Guarantor, Guardian, or other Responsible Party) agree to receive recurring communications from AOS via SMS and RCS messaging to the mobile number provided during the intake process and securely stored in our Electronic Healthcare Record (EHR) software. The collection and use of mobile numbers is governed by our Notice of Privacy Practices (NPP). These are transactional messages that may include, but are not limited to, appointment reminders, billing notifications, and updates about care. Numbers will not be used for unrelated marketing without an explicit and separate consent. AOS will not send unsecure messages containing personal health information (PHI). Numbers will not be sold or shared with third parties, beyond trusted service providers acting on AOS behalf. Patients are not required to opt in as a condition of receiving care. Participation in the AOS Messaging Program is optional. Please note that without participation AOS will be unable to provide you with important text messages related to your care.

Opt-Out/In and Help Instructions

Recipients can cancel the messaging service at any time. Just text “STOP” in reply to the message. A final confirmation of op-out text will be sent. To op-in again text “START” to the same number, and SMS text communication will resume. Cost and Carrier Disclaimer

Message and data rates may apply for any messages sent between AOS and recipients. Questions about text & data plans should be directed to the wireless carrier. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message frequency may vary.
